Emmanuel Home of Protection

School Starts

School started here in Nicaragua the first week of February.  Four of our young ladies are currently attending classes at the Mount of Olives Christian School in San Gregorio.  This is BMDMI's school administered by missionary Cathey Johnson.  The girls spent the first few days in a special class where a teacher worked to determine their grade levels.  Maria Jose and Luz Marina have both entered the forth grade.  Deysi is now reading well and Melissa is still struggling a little but making progress.

It's a Boy!!!

April 14th was a very special day at Emmanuel Children’s Home. Nora Ligia (Mileydi) gave birth to a baby boy, Ivan David. Mileydi came to the children’s home just before Christmas of 2008 having gone through a very difficult period of abuse in her life.

Another Baby Girl

On August 27, 2009 a new baby girl was born to fifteen year-old Tania.  Tania is still deciding on a name.  She is thinking of Madelyn or Olivia, so we are waiting to see which she chooses.
